Alas, this hodgepodge of genre staples is exactly what's wrong with the film. black-clad villains, and an awkward adolescent protagonist who finds out that he's actually someone special. The Seeker has everything you've come to expect in a young adult fantasy film: a vaguely British setting (although it was shot in Romania), unsubtle Christian symbolism, wool and wizardry, wise old mentors vs. And his name is Harry Potter, er, Will Stanton. The Dark is rising and only one special kid can stop them. Will's search for the signs takes him on a journey through the centuries, while the Rider and his minions become increasingly vicious in their attempts to acquire what Will has found. Of course, should the villainous Rider (Christopher Eccleston) get his hands on them the world will be doomed.
These signs are hidden throughout the ages and will empower whomever finds them to shift the balance in the fight between light and dark.
